Denodo: installation and setup

From architecture and installer through TLS and first source to verified operational handover.

Start as sprint plan Opens the Sprint Planner with a matching template.

  1. Set up Denodo: architecture and technical prerequisites

Check download, license access, supported system, components and technical setup prerequisites.

  2. Set up Denodo: installer, edition and platform choice

Choose the Denodo edition, shared installer and Windows, Linux or Mac client route.

  3. Install Denodo on Windows: package, license and first start

Install a new self-managed Denodo instance on Windows using the 9.5 installation route. Package and license must match your edition; downloading successfully does not establish activation.

  4. Install Denodo on Linux: console and first server start

Set up a new instance on supported Linux, separating installation, licensing and first service startup. Persistent systemd operation follows a working manual start.

  5. Use Denodo from a Mac: configure browser and client access

Denodo 9.5 lists Windows and Linux as server operating systems. This Mac route configures access to such an instance rather than claiming a native macOS server installer.

  6. Secure Denodo: TLS, administrator accounts, AD and roles

Secure initial access, separate VDP and web settings, and test AD/LDAP with role revocation.

  7. Set up Denodo: first source, views and Data Marketplace

Use synthetic data to verify a source, base view, business output, naming and discovery.

  8. Denodo: verify setup, restart and prepare updates

Recheck startup, login and the test query; prepare backup and updates for a retained instance.
